People’s Petition is a permanent, 45-foot interactive LED installation at the African American Museum in Philadelphia built around a 1799 petition submitted to Congress by Reverend Absalom Jones and seventy free Black Philadelphians. Visitors contribute a digital signature that joins an evolving procession across the overhead display, extending the historical document into a participatory contemporary experience.

M/O’s role

M/O handled budgeting, fabrication, software, LED display setup, equipment, and installation. We also coordinated the other teams involved in bringing the work into place.
